First, The Good News
First, the good news: The 2000 lb hunk of steel that was blocking some prime parking space in the garage is out of the way. We even managed to move the 1000 lb hunk of steel next to it. And tomorrow afternoon we'll tackle the biggest hunk of them all: the 4000 lb Malibu Classic station wagon. (Our secret? Auto dollies.)
Now, the bad news: We're a day too late. The bastards got to us.
This morning The Wife opened her car door only to discover the carpet ripped up and some wires hanging out from underneath the dashboard. The radio? No, the radio's fine. They stole the engine computer unit. Yes, they took the computer chip that keeps the car going. And now it won't go. How's that for a modern-day crime? Damn tech-savvy thieves.
It's a pricey little bugger, too. $700 at least for the part alone.
Rat bastards.
