On the Phone
Why, oh why does it take SBC two hours on the phone just to input the order to transfer your phone service from one house to another? And why, oh why does it take them a whole 10 business days to get around to setting up DSL access at the new place?
Having to use the modem all day for work is a bit like getting on the freeway and realizing that the speed limit has been lowered to 20 mph.
And what about those of us who know nothing but driving at 20mph our whole driving lives? We have those impatient drivers honking at us (Why is this file transfer taking so long, El? Oh that's right, you're an ol' school girl). It may take us longer to get there, but when everyone else is driving the latest cars with the latest fuel-injectors that cost triple the amount of the normal ones, guess who's smiling when the price of fuel increases.
Yes, I felt the need to non-sensically ramble. Merry Christmas.
Except that on the freeway, slowing people down can speed up the overall flow of traffic. No shock waves, ya.
*cough* cable modem.
2 days out *max* for cable modem install in sf.
That two hour transaction (okay it was only 45 minutes for me) was the beginning of all my troubles with SBC. Had she entered my orders correctly, none of my mess would've happened.
