survive out there
It always starts the same way. First there's the tingle high in the back of the throat. This is followed almost immediately by a stuffy nose. And within the hour, I'm sneezing and looking for the Cold-Eeze.
By morning, it's a full-on cold.
This will be my third one in three and a half months. And I'm beginning to think I am the reason that Procter & Gamble's stock is on the up and up.
Take note, my friends: Going back to an office job after working from your safe, clean home for two years is one of the worst things you can do for your health. How the heck do all of you survive out there?
Oh well, at least I'll sleep soundly tonight knowing that the money I earn from my schemes will one day allow me to retire to a germ-free life.
I was sick *a lot* last year and wondered where my days of health had gone to. Then I resolved to be healthier this year and started taking vitamin C every morning. For some reason, this appears to have worked, and I haven't even suffered an allergy attack yet (knock on wooden head). Try it! You'll like it! I hope you feel better soon, Amit.
BTW, I later saw that you are a journalist. Enjoyed the two articles I read. I'm passionate about science, and envy that you cover the JPL.
P.S. - Might as well include the URL of the blog my dad and I have.
Hi. Yes, it's a drag. But as an Indian, I thought I'd mention that a couple homeopathic medicines work surprisingly well to reduce the severity of common colds. It's not always easy to see results with homeopathy, but this has worked wonders for me. It has to be done, however, at the earliest hint of the cold, when you feel that "tingle". If you're really interested, you can email me. It's pretty simple and involves 2 remedies. My dad is a physician, but has also read about homeopathy extensively. Hope you feel better!
